Let The Juices Flow

Dear Soul Friends,

I didn’t plan to write to you today, but my friend Will Johnson’s Instagram post today inspired me to write a poem this morning, and so I thought, I’d share it with you.

Squeeze The Day

Squeeze the day
between the palms
of your hands

let the juices flow
through lonely roads
taking you 
to different lands

gulp
the pulp
and let the sour
make you shiver

suck
every minute
every hour
of the delicious 
unpredictable river
of life

bathe in the colours
on your beautiful way
spit out the seeds
let them sprout

scrunch your face
and laugh out loud
especially
when your heart bleeds

hold your head up high
while you indulge
in the rich experience
with grace

squeeze the day
feel the moisture
of the moment
sip through your fingers
let unquenchable joy
linger on your tongue

squeeze the day
you can not get it right
you can not get it wrong

squeeze the day
because this precious life
ain’t anything
but long
